He likes drinking and dancing and sex and will be friends with anybody who knows how to have a good time. He will be best friends with anybody who buys him a drink. He's flaky and obnoxious, best in small doses. He also has major trust issues and can't really hold down any sort of relationship.

More recently, he's moved in with his man Nevada and quit prostitution because Nevada is an endless money fountain but is beginning to realize that it can't buy him happiness. He has plenty of insecurities and issues that money can't solve, and I'd love to develop him more in that direction, in finding fulfillment through things that aren't material. Basically some patient, good-intentioned people who can give him some tough love, as well as those who hinder and drag him in the wrong direction.

[attr="class","fucking-text"]Jamie is from Italy, and is part of the Martinelli mafia family. He's been in Nova a while, living with his uncle Primo. While Jamie is more bookish and soft spoken than most of his family, he isn't much more normal - Jamie suffers from chronic sleep deprivation and insomnia. He hardly ever gets enough sleep, and is usually absent minded, wandering, hallucinating. He wavers between completely apathetic and extremely neurotic, depending.

Jamie's actually a polite and intelligent, but shy, teenage boy. He often falls asleep in strange places or can be found wandering the city at odd hours. At school, he's pretty much a weird loser - between school and home he has a pretty high tolerance for being bullied. He's really just a confused kid, caught between being an awkward teenage boy and a mafia heir.

[attr="class","fucking-text"]Isobel comes from an aristocratic English family, and she's been in Nova for several years now, studying art. She doesn't exactly give off the artist vibe - she seems precise, cold and stoic. But she's not as frigid as she comes off - while Isobel is generally a bit of a recluse and rarely seeks company, she isn't opposed to intelligent conversation. While she doesn't really like conflict she is assertive and opinionated isn't hesitant to speak her mind and tell people off when she needs to.

She's also a perfectionist, and she's got a competitive streak, a drive to be the best at everything she does. She doesn't necessarily like to compete all the time, but she won't turn down a challenge or any opportunity to prove herself.

[attr="class","fucking-text"]Run away from a Chinese-American crime family, Minzhe is more dangerous than he seems. Outwardly he seems very nervous - he has a terrible stutter and absolutely no people skills. A genius in his own right, Minzhe lives in his own world, more interested in numbers and mechanics than he is in socializing. But despite seeming shy and fearful, Minzhe is volatile and prone to violent outburts when he feels threatened.

He has no sense of social norms or empathy and the only other person he cares about is his younger sister.

[attr="class","fucking-text"]Salem is a Nova native currently based in L.A. as the guitarist of a prominent band. He's rich and famous and he don't let you forget it. He's only recently returned to the island - back to his roots to figure things out, for a break from the fame, though it hasn't been working out very well.

Lately he's sort of a recluse who spends all his time inside cooped up in his penthouse, but on the rare occasions he does end up going out and interacting with other people, you can expect a full-on diva attitude. He's grown out of going out and partying, but he still enjoys alcohol and affairs from the privacy of his own penthouse.

[attr="class","fucking-text"]Born in Chicago and raised between the states and Nova, Mathilde is a mortician, and she's pretty into the whole death-enamoured goth aesthetic.

Overall she's a generally unpleasant person, always with a blunt quip prepared and holding others at a distance. It's as if all her emotions have been replaced with seething hatred. While she seems serious, Mathilde is more of a rebellious teenager than she cares to admit - she loves body mods and partying on weekends, as much as she tries to be philosophical and brooding about it.

[attr="class","fucking-text"]Sofia is a recent arrival on the island, coming from England with her older brother. Just like the great man she shares a name with, Sofia is a detective. Not an official (or very good) one, but a dedicated one to say the least. She's very interested in discovering the island's secrets and learning about Ambrosia, but quite honestly not quite sure how to go about finding out about anything.

She's just a wannabe Sherlock that takes herself way too seriously.

[attr="class","fucking-text"]Growing up travelling with the circus, Shani has only recently settled down in Nova. Her childhood was different to say the least, and while her passion is in dancing and swimming, which she combines in her act, she also helps out a lot behind the scenes. She's rather maternal and will often overestimate herself, trying to make everybody happy.

Though she can be strict and protective over her friends and circus siblings, Shani is a free spirit like her parents, and has trouble taking things seriously. She loves trying new things and lives day to day.

She's a new character so I don't have a very good grasp on her yet, I just want to put her in as many situations as possible to figure out how to write her, so I'm up for anything!
